Who We Are

WHO WE ARE

We are YOU.

Wherever you are at spiritually, we invite you to join us in the journey!

There are thousands of people in our area who want to connect with God but are repelled by traditional church trappings. Sunday morning services here are comfortable and understandable. As good hosts, we are not interested in doing church to please ourselves but rather to welcome and encourage people who have no church background, or have given up on church altogether, or are seeking a way to connect with Jesus in new and meaningful ways.

Every church has to pick a style; “high” church or “low” church; formal or informal. Formal churches communicate the holiness and grandeur of God. Informal churches communicate the accessibility and love of God. At Cedarbrook we have chosen a more informal atmosphere, although we hope to also convey the holiness of God.

We purposefully choose upbeat songs in a style close to what most people would listen to on the radio. Our goal is to play music with words that help people connect with God through the arts. We encourage you to worship however you feel comfortable, even if that is simply listening.  You are welcome to stand, sit, clap, sing, hum, whistle...whatever makes you feel at home at Cedarbrook.

Sermons are most often delivered in a series to go deeper in a subject and cause people to come back for the rest of the series. Our sermons are Bible based, relevant to daily struggles and offer practical insights versus offering only biblical knowledge. We believe that knowing God’s word is good, but DOING God’s word is our calling.

We thoughtfully don’t stop and introduce ourselves during the service. For new people that are more introverted, this is the most uncomfortable thing about church. We trust people can introduce themselves on their own. We offer many other ways to meet and connect.

We offer communion on the first Sunday of every month. We are careful to not offer it so often that it becomes meaningless. Every sincere follower of Jesus is welcome to participate, including children.

We believe the community and the world are stronger when we all work together. We offer many ways for you to serve locally, or internationally though our Groups, Mission and Outreach efforts.
